Open Farm Week Events: Sunday

For seven days in August (15th – 21st), farms around Vermont open up their doors to the public for a unique on-farm experience. With over 90 farms hosting events during open farm week, there’s tons going on! With so much happening all around the state, it might seem overwhelming to plan out a fun week. To make it easier on you, we’ve created a list of events happening on each day of Open Farm Week!

  • A small sustainable farm using Italian traditions to raise pastured chickens, sheep and pigs. We process our meat using Italian approaches to butchering and processing fresh and cured meats. Come to the farm during Open Farm Week! Farm Stand open 8am – 8pm. Self-guided farm activities for children with an adult 11am – 2pm. Farm-made Italian baked goods ready to eat 8am-8pm.

  • Our farm stand will be open with a selection of items for sale including Fresh Vegetables, Eggs, Flower Bouquets, Organic Chicken, Garlic & Garlic Braids, Rhubarb Jam, Pickled Dilly Scapes, and Lisa’s Joyful Pottery. Visitors will also be invited to take a tour of gardens, visit with the draft horses, check out our pastured poultry and pastured pig operations. We will be happy to answer any questions about our farming practices, and will share information about upcoming classes that will be taking place at our farm in September and October.

Four Springs Farm, Campground & Learning Center

  • Tucked high on a west-facing slope with vistas of the Green Mountains and lovely sunsets, the orchards, greenhouses and vegetable gardens of this multi-faceted organic farm along with pastured poultry dotting the fields, provide a welcoming landscape for visitors who come to Four Springs Farm for rustic camping, volunteering or educational programs. Come visit during Vermont Open Farm Week for farm tours and group prepared snacks from the farm!

Kiss the Cow Farm

  • Come visit Kiss the Cow Farm during Vermont Open Farm Week! Tours of the farm include: meet the calves, check out the chickens and collect eggs, and dance with the duck. There is also a scheduled milking the herd program. We will be serving our own farmstead ice cream as well (for a small cost).

  • One Chicken At A Time Farm is a diversified farm. Our main attraction is our 30 friendly goats, they love to run and play. We have a great view for a walk or picnic in the fields. Haying is also something we will be doing. Come pick some veggies from the gardens or some flowers. You never know what’s going to happen on this busy farm!
