For seven days in August (15^th – 21^st), farms around Vermont open up their doors to the public for a unique on-farm experience. With almost 90 farms hosting events during open farm week, there’s tons going on! Some of the coolest (and tastiest) experiences are the on-farm dinners: at these special events, you’ll find breathtaking views, warmhearted people, and of course, a truly farm-fresh dining experience. North West Region:

Bread & Butter Farm – Shelburne

Burger Night

• Live music featuring The Zeichner’s – serving our grass-fed burgers, salads, veggie burgers, hotdogs, drinks and desserts! Burger Night started innocently in 2011 as a way for us to promote that we were raising grass-fed beef. We thought it sounded like fun to grill some burgers on a Friday afternoon for our Farm Store customers to let them try out the beef. The very first event we held, 150 people showed up!

Valley Dream Farm

On-Farm Dinner

• Your evening begins with an educational one hour tour of this beautiful certified organic farm, nestled into the picturesque Pleasant Valley outlined by gently rolling organic fields and breathtaking backdrop views of the majestic Mt. Mansfield. Guests are then seated in an outdoor covered setting with fresh flowers picked on the tour. The Valley Dream Farm dining experience is prepared by a local guest chef of the week from one of the area’s great restaurants.

North East Region:

St. J ALFA Community Farm Dinner – St. Johnsbury

• Enjoy an evening of tasty community farm, family fun! Enjoy grilled pizzas (by donation) that showcase the wonderful farm bounty, donated artisan cheeses and other toppings. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and take a walk through the gardens!

Agricola Farm – Panton

Farm Dinner

• Gourmet style, 5+ course, farm fresh plated meal served in our farm house. Only 30 seats available. Sign up using our online store (www.agricolavermont.com). Event from 5:00 to 9:30 includes farm tour.

Flatlander Farm – Starksboro

• Come meet our chickens, ducks and goats and learn about raising animals in our pasture based system. There will be a tour with the farmers, a potluck and our second annual pasture croquet tournament. Please bring a potluck dish to share!

Kimball Brook Farm – North Ferrisburgh

• Kimball Brook Farm invites you to come visit our farm during open farm week. We will offer hay rides, farm tours, petting zoo, a farm market, live entertainment, and a Fresh Supper ala carte…much of which will be sourced right here on the farm!

Knoll Farm – Fayston

Lamb Kebab Dinner

• Join us for a beautiful, abundant, and delicious feast of the field with Middle Eastern flavors. We will be grilling our own spiced lamb kebabs over a wood-fire and serving them up with many vegetarian complements from the gardens inspired by the cuisines that understand lamb best. We will be using our outdoor bread oven and serving outside in the gardens weather permitting.

• Join NOFA-VT for farm-fresh pizza and a celebration of Merck Farm and Forest, raising pastured pork, grassfed lamb and maple syrup. Come and enjoy dinner baked in NOFA-VT’s wood-fired pizza oven, followed by a farm tour.

Farm to Fork BBQ + Entertainment

• A one of a kind Farm to Fork experience. Dine with others who want to enjoy a local meal on the farm. A tour, bonfire, sunset, community dinning at it’s finest in our agritourism greenhouse. James Beard Award winning guest chef! Local beef and vegetarian options. The Eames Brothers’ Band will be playing live throughout the evening. Come for a memorable, old time Vermont evening, dress for the weather.
