This afternoon’s GOES-16 imagery clearly displays some particulate matter in the atmosphere rotating clockwise from the Caribbean through the Gulf of Mexico. Based on the upstream mid/high level winds, our best guess is that it’s sand or dust from the Sahara Desert.pic.twitter.com/HatX04eaNf
